Amy Detisch

Amy has been an assistant with Gan Shalom for 2 years. Amy works part-time and is a student at UK the other days. We really enjoy having her with us. She is a very caring person and has a special way with the toddler children. Amy has a very warm and gentle voice that works "magic" with
the children.

Tell us a little about your
background:
I am from the Northern Kentucky/ Greater Cincinnati area. I moved to Lexington 3 years ago. I currently attend UK as a history major. I have always loved children so I am naturally interested in education. I plan to complete my masters in education and eventually become a teacher.
What do you do in your free time
and for fun? How about bungee jumping?
I like to read, shop, exercise, and I love to swim, sing and dance with my friends.
What would you like others to
know about the kids at Gan Shalom?
I would like everyone to know that the children here at Gan Shalom are wonderful. They are so sweet and each one is unique and special in their own way. I feel priveleged to be able to work with and get to know each and every one of them.
